Overview

There is a collective awareness of the enjoyment which photography can achieve. The mobile device (phones, iPads and tablets) have made photography extremely accessible to everyone. Some of the most incredible pictures have been made simply because the phone has been the convienient camera on hand in the decisive moment.

This photo walk is a mini adventure designed to empower the phone photographer by giving them the how-to guide all photographers need, in order to produce well composed images. It aims to introduce the beginnings of creative thinking behind photography using the phone's camera and the available apps (many of which are free).

Our professional photographers are experts in the use of phones for photography as well as apps used in photography and special FX for phone photographer. You will receive personal attention and guidance throughout this workshop. With a few helpful tips and insights into using a mobile device you will experience increased confidence, which will reflect in the images you create.

About the mini Adventure

We believe that in order to learn photography you need to do photography and these learning workshops are designed as mini adventures walking along the foreshore of Sydneys harbour.

Our mission is to help you improve your observation skills and therefore improve your photography. Improving your observation skills you will find clues which reveal perspective that help create interest in your photos. Your smartphone camera allows you to photograph in a way that bigger cameras cannot, and we will share with you the techniques that take real advantage of this. While you’re busy exploring, you won’t realise how much your photography skills have improved. By the end of this adventure you will understand how to better apply a photographer’s mindset, helping you use your smartphone camera to create unique photos.

You will be surprised by your smartphone camera’s capabilities and what you’ll learn as we weave our way around the shoreline of Sydney's CBD - a historic area dotted with iconic landmarks, public art and best of all, secret perspectives.
